I did notice that people didn't chat much on the usa forum! that's a shame cos i was looking forward to having a nice chat with our american cousins. Used to have that on the TL forum I used to go on, we had our own UK section and some of the Americans would come on and have a good ol laugh where as the rest of the site was quite serious!! I reckon Joe could have a bit of Cockney in him Wayne if he checked his family tree!! Lol ;D

My mother was mostly Irish and my father was mostly Polish. My 7 times great grandfather was a Polish war hero, and don't EVEN start with the wise cracks on that one!!!!!!! His name was Jan Kilinski and he has a statue in the center of the old town of Warsaw. He fought in a revolution against the Russians and sent them packing back to Russia. A few months later they came back with 17,000 more soldiers and kicked his arse and exiled him to Siberia for a few years. He was allowed back later and went back to both his shoe making business and he owned a house of ill repute across the street from his shop. He is my idol!!!!

I will check for a jacket badge. Might have one left. I have tons of Raleigh versions.
If you are talking about my forum I didn't install the chat mod. Might try again next season.
There has always been a bit of Schwinn Snobery here in the states with some owners which I have never understood. Just a freakin bike. And plenty of great models besides Schwinn.

That's a bit freaky Mactire, Joe eventually found me a patch, came across it tonight while I was working on the mtb, and thought I might sow that on me bike overall I wear when I'm doing stuff!! Had it for about 6 months so quite a coincidence when I just read your reply!! Yeah that's our philosophy, they are kids bikes after all, although I have to say the Schwinn doesn't feel like it size wise when yea ride em!! You always get some that do take it quite serious, that's fine as it does keep a lot of the bikes original and helps new collectors get there bikes bang on if they want to, but when it starts to get nit picky with people that ain't too bothered about the originality of a bike then that's just detrimental to the whole retro scene imho!!! I have to say though it was nice how easy going your site was when i posted photos of me Fastback, no one mentioned or picked fault that I had put on white and not grey cables and bow pedals not the normal flat ones...

I even have a Fastback in white which they never made. All original parts just custom color. I figured 70-71 was a popular year for white Schwinn's. Why not the fastback.
Glad to here Joe found you a patch. I had one extra vintage patch. I am always n the lookout for patches from the UK to go with some of the head badges I have collected from England.
I have traced my english side back to 1434 to Raysthorpe, Norfolk and workingon my Irish side. Hope to break into the 1300'soon on my English bloodline.
Anyone know where Raysthorpe might have been in Norfolk?

Family trees are cool i want to trace mine. We have always had a chill out view to our bikes, I'm not saying we haven't built bikes exactly to spec but we don't ridicule people who don't. Its just a bit of fun at the end of the day and were always up for a laugh and fun. P.s did i say we love pictures?? come on mac post some pictures up mate. ;D ;D
